Solved Windows Explorer

Hi
When using Windows explorer, is there a way of entering it with the folders in favorite links closed and the right panel just showing the drives in your computers? It becomes a bit of a pain to close the folder and click on computer under favorite links.

Thanks for the help and sorry if I wasn't clear. What I wanted to do is hide the favorite links. Is there a way that Windows explorer can start with them hidden?

Also the navigation panel on the right starts showing the folders and files (in Documents) and I would like it to start only showing the drives (in Computer)

Dogberry,

You can do Example D in the second link above to have Windows Explorer open like Computer.

Afterwards use the first link to hide Favorites in the Windows Explorer window, then close it. It should open with it still hidden the next time you open that window from the same shortcut.

Thanks again. I tried Example D but it won't let me change the target from "Computer" It is greyed.

Dogberry,

You will need to do this with a Windows Explorer shortcut and not directly from the .exe file instead. If you are, then create a new shortcut from the "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" file and see if you can with it.
