Windows DVD maker

Recently I tried to burn a dvd with windows dvd maker but it crashes. I have previously used this program successfully. I am using vista 32 home premium.

When I open dvd maker, it logs on and allows me to add files. After adding the files, when I click next, it crashes. It says that the progrm generated error. It gives me the option to check internet for solution or close the program.

Although I can burn DVD from Nero 8, I still like to use windows dvd maker given that it has good menu features.

I hope Microsoft delivers better programing for their own operating system. To give you another example of poor programing, I updated the browser to IE8 which does not open any attachment in windows mail. I rolled it back to IE7 and now I can open the attachments but I can't open the links in the mail unless I have my browser open. What a nusense Microsoft has created - and again, they charge for supporting their own softwares.

MICROSOFT BETTER RESOLVE ALL PROBLEMS ONCE AND FOR ALL BEFORE RELEASING ANY MORE INCOMPLETE SOFTWARE.

I Just received email that asdah has replied to my thread. Sorry, I don't see the reply. I see links about this subject. Is thia the reply? I have already read all linked posts. While I am in here, I want to ask you all if there is a way to uninstall and re install movie maker and dvd maker. I downloaded it from microsoft site and it only gives me a zipped file that unzippes to several files but no installation file.

Any help?

Try getting the Nero Removal Tool, uninstalling Nero, run the removal tool, then see if the problem goes away. Nero doesn't always play nice with other burning software.

Just uninstalling won't do it. You have to run the removal tool. Nero leaves junk in the registry that messes things up otherwise.

Thank you. I have noticed that the movie maker and dvd maker does work with some avi files without removing nero. I do not want to remove nero as I need it to copy disks which no Microsoft software does.
Thank you again for your help.
