Windows Backup

Have several questions regarding Windows backup. First, what is the general opinion of this as a backup tool? I really can't afford more software at this time but I like to back up all my personal data at least daily. What I've been doing is; once a week I backup all my personal data manually to an external HD,then I also try to run the backup program native to Vista Home Premium for incremental backups. My big concern is how reliable is this program? Will I have problems when I need my data?

Thank you,
Ed

I use it religiously once a week. I have seen too many threads here where someone has corrupted Windows either through registry cleaners and/or malware and were forced to re-install...and never backed up their data.

I suggest you image your drive, then perform weekly backups with vista. If you need to re-install its as easy as restoring from the image and restoring the User data file backup. Quick and easy.

While Premium doesnt have the drive imaging utility, here is a free program that will do it.
Free Drive Backup Express - disk backup software
