Okay so, i have this game that i used to play, its called Creatures 1 (i have version 1.04) and i used to love this game, and played it on my windows XP computer, but now have windows vista on both my laptop, my sisters laptop, and our home desktop. I have tried installing the game on my laptop, and it comes up and asks if i want to install, so i click "install" and then nothing happen. Ive even tried going into the folder and installing it from there but i get this message:
"
SETUP.EXE
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you’re running. Check your computer’s system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
Now i know that it works on windows vista, becauseit works on both the desktop and on my sisters laptop, and both of themhave vista, so why cant i get it to work on my computer??
HELP PLEASE!!

Is your laptop the same make as your sister's, i know HP had issues running older games, (dont know why they would), the only other thing i can think of is to try in safe mode, nothing else seems to work.

F8 on bootup or open msconfig, to do that press
1,start,
2,run,
3,type msconfig, press enter, on the boot tab check safe boot, and reboot, (dont forget to change it back while in safe mode)

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Here's what you do.

Download Virtual PC 2007!! You may have to get a SP for it as well but I am not 100% sure if that affected anything on my computer.

Follow this link for the file and instructions on how to get Windows 95 working on your virtual PC.

YouTube - How to use Windows 95 in Virtual PC. VHD included!
(The file has a link in information.)

Make sure you go into setting and turn Hardware Visualization to off.

This is extremely easy and does not take much time other than downloading files. Once you have Windows 95 up and running you can click CD and click the drive that has Creatures in it!! It will download without a hitch and you can get playing.

I was really excited when I figured this out; I searched the internet for ways to get Creatures 1 working on Vista and it wasn't until I started looking up more about Virtual PC that I was able to do it.

I hope this helps you!!! :geek:
