Win Vista & XP

Hi Ppl,

My laptop comes with Win vista basic with the hidden recovery all in my C drive. My laptop has 2 partition, C & D drives.
Im thinking of installing Win XP in a folder under D drive, is it workable? This will allow my laptop to have 2 OS.Will there be any conflict?

Can someone help?

Hi undergrd,

What do you currently have in your D partition, and what size is it? You cannot have a hidden recovery in your C partition, as the process of recovery erases the contents of the partition. I rather think that if D is around 6GB (not sure of the exact size, might be slightly smaller or larger) that this is your actual recovery data.

My D drive has a capcity of 50GB which I think shld be sufficient. Wat i mean is that the laptop was already preinstalled with the recovery when I bought it.
Now what I want is whether can I just install a Win XP at D drive...

Just be careful with it. Xp is known to destroy/override Vistas boot files.
