Hello all,
I have just purchased a wireless modem router from Amazon hoping to (finally) get my home network set up.
After I clicked on 'confirm' to buy the item, I had a scary thought.
My question is:
My Device Manager says I have an "Intel ® 82566DC 2 Gigabit Network connection" which I assume is my network card.
Is that compatible with my newly purchased modem router?
"Netgear DG834G 54Mbps Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Firewall Router with 4-port 10/100 switch"
Apologies for the simplicity of the question. I am usually better with stuff like this, but this network thing has me floored. I suppose it will too, until I get through my first setup..
Thanks for any advice!
PS
Also, the G, MIMO G and N things are confusing me.
G seems to be the standard, but is there any benefit to N?
