can anyone get A grade line quality on pingtest.net with a server the is over 4,000 miles away? im just wondering because that is very rare to see.

Hello,

You would not understand how bad my broadband internet connection is, here are the results to my nearest server (they are accurate results, not a faulty server) Skype is out of the question, however, I have learned to cope with downloads and stuff. It takes me many weeks to download big files, even with good download managers. It is not antivirus software or anything that is causing these results, they are accurate!

These are the results for my Internet connection, furthest I could try was in Ukraine.
BTW, Richard you should switch your ISP as soon as you can, TalkTalk is the best and good value for money.

Here are mine. Firstly, the default (automatic) servers for my location (Speed and Ping), and then the results from Christchurch in New Zealand (about the furthest away from me).





As can be seen, a reasonable speed despite the difference in distance. As expected, the ping results were not as good for a long distance connection, however the stability (jitter) is acceptable.

I have tried several ISPs, but it is not as bad as 96%. Webpages do load, if only very slowly. We have been vagely promised a direct fibre optic cable, but nothing yet!

Well I have known nothing better, and it is still faster than my old Dial Up. Anyway, I have tried a 3G dongle, but that was slightly slower (we only got a very poor GPRS signal) However, we did choose this house and it is in the bottom of a valley.

I've heard that Google was doing some sort of project in the Mid-Eastern United States regarding new fiber-optic lines connecting a community. I wish I was part of that community!.. lol
