What niggles/annoys you

My attempt at another silly post, but what annoys or niggles you all? in other words your pet hates, apart from me that is lol

I can't be precise personally speaking as its literally everything (don't ask) lol

If this has been done before I apologise

What annoys me Chris is when people just sweep thru and a lot of questions and you answer them and they don't even give you a response back or a thank you. Then they just keep asking questions. Constantly taking and never giving back or contributing to others in any way. Can be quite annoying. But I guess that's just the way some people are.

Er......yes I can see what you mean Airbot, one of mine too that, but also what gets to me is people not reading what others type and then ask, after you have said what graphics card you have, "What graphics card do you have?" or something else like that, happened to me alot on forums, and I really have to bite my tongue

Again I don't care and have mentioned this before, forums that do not make you at all welcome, I have been a member of loads no doubt many of you have/are too, but in some cases they all stick to each other like glue and hate newcomers or are so dismissive in their help towards you that in the end you are close in my case to tears

In that case calhounhusker, you'll get annoyed with me as I am stupid at times, hope you can look past that lol

Yes, that too. I've never seen forums like these before. Most are very friendly and helpful here.

And explains why I have posted more than 350 posts, no other forum on the Net has had me stay and post as much, and actually made me so many friends too, that is a really nice thing especially for me

Mentioning no names here, but one game forum I went to alot for mods, (one of my favourite games) the people there disgusted me, one or two were moderately helpful, but the others were all kissy kissy with one another and left others out, and yet it was their mods I was playing, I must have been a fool for going there.

But here it is a pleasure to comre and be apart of

Thank you calhounhusker, as you can see I have no self confidence or likeness for who I am, but I do keep going on about me and I hate that too, I don't know about "put a sock in it", I need several socks

Actually on re-reading your first reply Airbot, I have been very guilty of keeping on asking questions and although I actively look for posts by folks asking things, but sadly for me as yet there are only a handful I can actually deal with, I know that will improve to become alot more, but I myself need to ask alot to be able to gain the valuable knowledge to help others.

So I hope others don't feel that I am a culprit for constantly asking things

I don't think you are guilty of any of the things that have been mentioned Chris and I agree this is one friendly forum.
I belong to several but some of them are really more for the technically minded, I know that isn't me and some of them I only visit on the odd occasion, but one I've been with them since they first started quite a few years ago so I'm used to their ways. Another is a very friendly one and is geared to the complete novice with computers.

There isn't much that annoys me really apart from bad spelling when people are writing posts, I know the odd slip up can happen but when I would think most people have spell checks installed the atrocious spelling of some people makes me cringe and I have to check myself not to point it out and make them feel stupid.

I wasn't saying you're guilty of what I wrote Chris, quite the opposite. You help out with what you have knowledge of and that's commendable. There's nothing wrong with asking a ton of questions, but what I mean is when people just ask and never give back anything, even a positive or any response for that matter to someone giving them an answer to their questions. You have never been like this, I have seen you answer many peoples questions in a friendly and helpful manner.

Nice of you to say that

You must excuse me if I mis-spell, only I do not have a spell checker, unless Vista has one built in, if so I have'nt seen it lol

What I usually do if I get stuck on a word is type it into google and look at the web definition and spelling, definition is good for when I want to use a word that is a word I have never used before and instead of a older word, difficult to explain but I'm sure you know what I mean lol

But yes indeed some of the woeful spelling I have seen on forums and even in game manuals!! is quite something, yes alot can be mis-prints for manuals but when a person gets the spelling wrong its not good, and as you say with spell checkers and the like about there really is little to no excuse

Sometimes I do forget the normal ettiquette or am in the middle of an episode but then I rarely post if at all, and if I do its locked away on my little website where no-one sees it lol damn good job too

Chris I can give you a couple of suggestions if you're interested. I use ieSpell which puts itself into the right click option so when you're in a forum and type out a post all you have to do is put the cursor inside the box and right click then click check spelling.
Another good one for finding out the meaning of words is WordWeb, clicking on the icon that it puts in the notification area brings up a box and you type in the word then click search and it will bring in several examples with suggestions where they can be used. Here's a picture of what it looks like

Hi Chris

Firefox has spell check built-in you just need to load the dictionary for the language you use,

British English is here ...

If you then go to Tools - Options - Advanced - General and check that the "check spelling as I type" is checked

Now when you have a spelling error it will be underlined in red and you can right click and correct or add to dictionary.
