Id hate to go back and look threw all my receipts cos id cry at how much i really did spent
I know i was in the £3000 mark just with my tower and if i add all the extras like my tv that is use as a monitor i think i might be hitting close to $4500 maybe even £5000
Of course now its quite out dated it probably be able to rebiuld the sme system for around £900

Only problem is that it's actually going to cost me just over £600 as the only way I could have a Vista machine was to buy it from my mail order catalogue and pay for it over 3 years, hence the reason why I can't buy Windows 7 for a while

Don't worry Joan, since windows 7 has already proven itself at such an early stage, you should just buy the OEM version and install it on your Vista machine, it'll work fine me thinks :D

easily £1.500 in the last 2 years if not more, i tend to burn out components pretty quick unfortunately..

Why not do as i did... keep you current machine and slowly build a new 1 over time... before you know it you will have a really good machine

If its a case of you wouldn't know how don't worry as we will help you

the 1st tip is to start with the motherboard.... from the mother board manual you will be able to check what you can and cant use

I.e if your mobo is 933 then you will know you cant use a 775 cpu.... same principle with ram
doing it this way also mean you can use some of the components from you old system such as the dvd drive ect

Don't worry Joan, since windows 7 has already proven itself at such an early stage, you should just buy the OEM version and install it on your Vista machine, it'll work fine me thinks :D

Oh I know it will run on here as I've been testing out the beta although I've taken it off now, didn't see the point in getting too comfortable with it just for a couple of months.

Trouble is it still comes down to money, you need it to buy the components

Mind you if I went into my spare room there are several boxes in there full of computer components, probably enough to built a few machines, only problem there is that they belong to my son-in-law and along with furniture and other things are in storage here until they get a place of their own

I would if it was that simple but then again being able to afford to buy a piece then buy another when possible would take too long and by the time I got the parts to build a machine the bits I'd have would be obsolete and I'd probably be incapable of being able to use it anyway

I'd never in a month of Sundays pay that much for a computer, I'm not a gamer or business so I wouldn't be able to claim it back as a business expense, I'm just a pensioner who's husband is out of work, who says there isn't age discrimination, so just manage to survive.

There wasn't the option to select Windows 7 and i didn't see the point you paying for vista again
It was sent out on delivery yesterday by an imaginary Currier, imaginary-force so you should receive it within 5 imaginary working days
