What is Windows 7?

I opened W7 and I could not log in as if I am not Forum member. But I saw same familiar names among posters and moderators. Is W7 separate from FORUM? I need to register there, too? & what sort of stuffs is W7 for?

Lol, pretty much. I'm actually going to start running a dual boot with Vista & XP on my other comp. just see what the hell is really going on in W7 so far. It looks pretty straight so far. I've done a good bit of reading on the W7 Forums and I'm convinced I should give it a try.

Not sure what you mean by another forum to start hating - but most of us there are already beta testing W7 - and we like what we're seeing and using.

Somehow I misread that - my apologies - don't know why it said 'forum'

Hello CNY.

You won't hate Windows Se7en; it's actually quite good right from the start. They're going to have a public beta release coming very soon. Give it a try if you get the chance.

Hi CNY,

I Am typing this from within Windows 7 64Bit ;)

although this is the first released Pre-Beta (Alpha?), it is that stable that I rarely feel the need to boot back into Vista - it's that good.

As for the official beta release this will as I understand things be available to anyone willing to sign up on the Microsoft website. And there's always the dual boot option :)

Public Beta - as in open to the public.

If you like Vista (and I loved Vista until I got my hands on W7) you'll be smitten with W7. It has more features for Vista's new UI, better compatibility with older hardware, it runs a lot faster (I'd be as bold as to say twice as fast - *easily*) and looks a lot smoother.

Trust us - this is not fanboyism - this is the honest truth.

I was excited about Vista and its features, even those that a some people don't like, such as UAC - but I am ecstatic over W7.
