What happened to my screen saver

Thanks to this forum I was able to find out why my screensaver would never start because of my wireless mouse. I updated and downloaded the patch and it started to work instantly. But later that same night after running a handful of other applications it stopped working and the screensaver won't start. I can go and preview it but it won't start once I am idle. I know that this is a ridiculus issue but my wife loves to see all our family photos as the screensaver. Can someone help? Thank you.

What wireless mouse is it?

I have a feeling my screensave doesn't work either, but I've never noticed it until now...

If you search the forums you'll find that if you use a microsoft wireless mouse that the screensaver won't work. Microsoft put out a patch to fix it and even when I installed it, it works at first, but then stops working after a couple of applications have been used. Can someone help?

Not true of all wireless mice - I have a Microsoft wireless mouse without the patch (manually installed, anyway, I am not sure if it may have automatically installed as a Windows Update) and it goes into sleep mode very easily - easier, in fact, than my main computer.

So, what mouse do you have?

I have got the same problem with Microsoft wireless mouse. When I remove wireless mouse, the screensaver worked just fine but stopped working again when I put the mouse back. I have tried several times and now I know that the mouse is the problem.

Any advice hot to download the patch or anything to fix this problem so I can use wireless mouse again.

Thanks

Hello,
You need an optional update called " HID Non-User Input Data Filter ".
You probably cannot find it in Windows updates anymore. If so, google Intellipoint software, install it, then go look for the optional update.

Thanks a lot!!! t-4-2

It works now after I downloaded "HID Non-User Input Data Filter" from Windows Update. I can still find it there. Thanks..
