I put the computer into sleep, and all is well. However, when it wakes up, the welcome screen appears but after a few seconds the computer will suddenly reboot and says it has crashed from an unexpected error. No BSOD has appeared (yes I have automatic restart set to off) except for once, which was a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
This problem came suddenly one day without explanation. I've tried system restore, turning hybrid sleep off, but none of these seems to help.
I don't think video card drivers are the culprit, I'm using 185.85 WHQL Nvidia drivers on a 8600GTS and I've tried reverting to the old drivers back when sleep worked but it still crashed on wake.
Note that sleep was working for even about a year before these problems occurred, leading me to think this might be a hardware issue?
I'm running a
Dell Optiplex 755
Q6600 2.4GHZ
4GB 667 RAM
8600GTS w/ 185.85 drivers
