Can you be more specific as to what you did to "improve" your performance? Was this vista telling you to do this or a 3rd party app?

I don;t want to be rude but that's probably the worst post I have seen for a long time. i know that was rude but...

You'll need to explain step by step and in a logical way. Imagine you are a mechanic and someone has rung you up with a problem with their car and think about what you want to hear to be able to help.

So from what you have written...

You wanted to improve Vista performance...

1) Why? What was wrong?

Vista or something else told you to try something.

2) what or who told you to do what?

So your solution was to kill the motherboard BIOS by removing the battery off the MB

3) Who told you to do this? You will now have to re-build from scratch

However, when you put battery back in and started nothing happen except for a few clicks.

Well..what did you expect after removing the battery? You have erased the BIOS information and will need to re-install it.

Do you have the necessary experience in doing this?

If not..I seriously suggest you take it to a PC repare shop.

sorry the info i gave you was so bad. my son is working on computer. he said something got selected by accident and got blue screen, that said cannot run in this configuration and to restart the computer. restarted computer and this is when problem happened. the manufacturer told us to remove battery and reinstall it. they said it would restore factory settings. after doing this the computer would then turn on. he could get to the advanced boot options screen. it will not load in any of the safe modes or last known good configuration. get loading bar that finishes, then screen goes blank. after a while it tries to load again over and over again. same results. so do we need new bios chip.

You can't just "replace" the bios chip. Unfortunately, whatever you did, sounds like you just need to reformat and reinstall. In your case, I would take it to your local pc repair shop to have them backup your data... Unless you're absolutely sure you know what you're doing!

i posted in wrong forum first. how do you remove it from vista news. will get bios chip reflashed. wish i could get it to load in safe mode. i could then go on internet to reflash it.

My Computer

can u not even get to the flash point again at start up..... if so cant u use another machine to download the relevent bios to flash

surly ur not flashing the bios in windows!!!!!!!!!!!DONT DO THAT its a sure fire recipe for destruction
it has to be done in the MS DOS enviroment from past experience

anyway its their fault for telling u to do that IMO they should just give u a new board for their fxxk up
hope u get it sorted ....keep us posted :):)
