[Vista x64 Sp1]uTorrent and Java

So before installing Java 64 bit (uninstalled) then 32 bit (works with Limewire), uTorrent doesn't work anymore.

As soon as I start it, it now KILLS my inet connection and I need to reboot each time to have it working again. I tried run as admin, enable/disable upnp, set forwarding, limit incoming connections...

I would ask for a new/ more compatible BT client but I already in the middle of downloading gigs worth of stuff with uTorrent.

What to do...

Get rid of Limewire to start. See if uTorrent starts to function again, if not do a system restore before you installed Limewire. Then if you must use the gnuttella network grab Frostwire FrostWire.com - Official Website - Free BitTorrent/Gnutella Client - No subscriptions, Just download and install

Hi Harryhk,

Try changing the max.halfopen connection limit and restricting your upload bandwidth to 8-12KB for best performance...

Options> Preferences> Advanced> net.max_halfopen (change to 4)

FWIW - I think you can have both 32bit and 64bit JAVA installed....
