Vista won't update

Vista installed in UK 18 months ago. Since moving to Egypt, windows update will not work, connecting to interent via Vodafone Dongle.
With many people travelling/working around the world, how do they keep their genuine copy of Vista updated? (When I go back to UK, updates resume, so my laptop stays updated with XP on, but main Vista comp stays in Egypt and now has had no updates for months.)

Thanks for your help. It hasn't made any difference. I have just used a UK proxy IP and then updates work. Seems an english UK version of Vista needs a UK IP. How do business people working round the world manage updates? I still would like to find a way around this, as paying for UK proxy IP or new copy of Vista for this region appear the only solutions??
