Vista wont start up BSOD Unable to do anything..want to do full system restore.

How do I re-install windows vista? Have OS disc, windows will not load at all, under F8 safe mode dont work...system restore wont open nothing does.disc wont start up...when i reboot without pushing any buttons, screen comes up says WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY and i have the option of LAUNCH STARTUP REPAIR or START WINDOWS NORMALLY...startup repair just restarts my computer and if i start windows normally, it shows the MICROSOFT CORPORATION logo with the line that goes across back and forth right before windows opens..after about 8 seconds then it goes to a blank screen...after about 3-4 minutes, it goes to a blue screen that says STOP: c000021a {fatal system error} The initial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0xc0000221 0x00100348). The system has been shut down.

So, to sum it all up, I turn on my laptop,screen that says GATEWAY and has option for F2 and F10...if I dont do anything...it goes to a black screen with curser blinking in top left corner...after about 2 minutes, it goes to Windows Error Recovery where I have the option of launching startup repair or start windows normally... If I launch startup repair, all it does is restart the computer... If I start Win Normally it goes to the Microsoft Corp logo with the line that goes across...then after a few minutes, the BSOD appears...
F8-any option I chose does absolutly nothing...

Ok,

Lets start at the beginning.

1. Do you want to recover your system.
2. Install the operating system from Disk & start from again.

Both options maybe achievable No. 1 can take a little longer but there is no guarantee of success.
No. 2 can be done quite quickly but you loose everything (If not backed up first) & start from scratch. That is provided you have all the disks & drivers too etc.

So what is your choice?
Waht do you have access to?

Yes, I want to completely restore my computer to it's factory condition... I have been without my laptop for 9 months or longer, so at this point, I am not worried about anything on it...

I have the Gateway Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit with SP1 Operating System Disc. That is the only disc that cam with it.

I DO have Recovery Discs, but they are the Recovery Disc for my other Gateway laptop...they were purchased the same day...and they are identical...will they still work for this laptop????

I am unable to get the CDROM/DVD to load the Operating System DiscI have gone into BIOS and made sure the BOOT order began with CDROM/DVD and I saved upon exit...but everything I've tried has done nothing..

OK..I'm more than ready to get thid going!!!

Hi,

You need to boot from the cd & complete the recovery process (full destructive) This will reset your system back to "First day" use. Provided the disk you are using is designed & built for your laptop model.
