My windows mail on my Vista is completely messed up...everytime i open it have rows upon rows of empty "recovered" folders...and now I am unable to empty my deleted folder

I'm having the same issue with my Windows hotmail!
I can access my email from my straight talk phone
but
NOT from my vista 64bit Laptop!!
windows hotmail will Open
but
Hangs there
and
if I click on anything else
within the Windows hotmail screen
it gives a 'not responding' error message!!!!
