Vista Windows Mail over unauth wi-fi

Just set up Vista Windows Mail client so that Internet website email would
work and I could reply to websites.

My email server is an online service (like HotMail). I want to continue going to
the online email.

Now Windows Mail wants to down load the past ten years of email from the
server, 3500 messages. How can I make it understand not to, such as just
read emails from today forward.

And can I just tell Windows Mail not to download mail? Otherwise, every time
I send something it's going to start dumping the 3500.

Hello James,

It would appear that windows mail is attempting to download all the items in your inbox - this is normal

if you have a lot of mails in the inbox it will attempt to download them all as they are seen as new

If you would like to limit the the amount of mails downloaded the best way would be to create folders within your online account and archive off those mails you do not wish to download.
