Vista was slow, now it's REALLY slow

installed SP1.

Used to take 10 minutes to boot and another 1-2 to log in.
Now it's 15 min to boot and at least 8 minutes to log in.

Launching any program is coffee trip time, if I brew a new pot sometimes Vista is ready when I get back.

Nice. Attta boy M$, way to bork it up again:p

10 minutes to boot  and now 15 :shock:

I've just timed mine after installing SP1. From boot to a working desktop (including login) 2 min 42 sec.

Hey, I've just noticed that, at the age of 65, I'm now a junior member :D

Thank you, thank you ;)

Standby-STR boots in under 30 seconds, MonsterMaxx have you installed the correct drivers or can you tell us the the boot-up performance stats from event-viewer?

My Computer

It has all the latest drivers from HP and a few even more current from the component's mfgr (intel, nvidia, etc.)

Sorry, I have work to do today and don't have time to shut down and reboot so we can play around with Vista.
When there's a job to be done it's best to use XP.
I'll try to get those log entries posted up tonight.

Boot times have come down, but it's still way way slower than XP to boot and/or log in (even a log out / log in takes a longgggggg time.)
