I recently reinstalled vista on my laptop and attempting to reinstall service pack 2 it refused to install twice. I tried the Service Pack Check tool or whatever it is called through microsoft and it didnt work at all. Took like an hour to run that...not 15 minutes as they say it should be. Same error came up and it wanted to try and use that tool again.
I was thinking of just using the recovery partition to back to factory again SP1 preinstalled, install only updates first, and after all updates, install SP2.
Anyone have any other suggestions or does this seem like a good idea.
Thanks.
