Hello,

I am an older guy who try to keep up with pc stuff , but sometime i get lost .
I just changed from Xp to Vista

Perhaps somebody can help me out !

Problem a: the ikons on my desktop are to big , deformed and not near eachoter on my screen.

Problem b:the bottom line , with start bottom and smaller ikons and clock is gone , so i can't close the pc properly .

Yes for expierienced users a joke , but for me a big issue .

Thanks in advance

Raymond

Hi Raymond,

I am new to Vista and not that young anymore either, so I know what you are going through. To change the size of the icons, right click on any blank area of your desktop (the area with the icons) and then click on view. You will get a choice of what changes you would like to make.

Click on start, click on welcome center (if you do not see it click on all programs first) In welcome center click on see all items, click on personalize windows. At the bottom of the screen click on task bar, then click (to check off) lock the task bar and show the task bar (two checks are needed). I hope this helps, let us know.

I just found this forum and the people here are great, they are knowledgeable and really enjoy sharing their knowledge. Hope to see you often and bring your questions.

Easier way is to hold the control button and use your mouse wheel up to make them bigger down to make them smaller.

Wooah, never knew that! lol You learn something new all the time :)

Whilst I'm here, a little question for you guys.

After changing the desktop to "McDonalds Supersize", (I actually quite like it), how do I get rid of those small squares each one? See pic below.
