Dell computer, vista home premium 32bit. I reinstalled vista and was given a driver disk too. Is there any thing I need off the driver disk. Ever since I reinstalled, internet explorer has been freezing a lot. Everything else works fine it seems.

Hi Nate,

Depends what you mean by reinstall. If you used a recovery disc, it will usually be a clone that places an image back on your drive, identical to when it left the factory.

Sounds like you may have a reinstall disc - Dell are unusual as they provide this with some ranges, at least. In that case, Vista will have installed the native drivers included on the dvd. Check in Device Manager and if there are no yellow exclamation marks, they will at least be installed if not up to date.

The Dell driver disc is probably not up to date either.

Suggest you visit the Dell website and download and install the most recent drivers for your particular model.

Not certain this will fix the IE problem , but it is worth trying first.

Hope it helps

You may want to look in the device manager.
If there are any real problems then this will show you.
Have a look in your error logs to find out why explorer is freezing.
You may find your computer is downloading updates, this can take a bit of bandwidth that may make it look as if explorer is freezing. If you are using a router look at the lights when explorer is freezing, if there is internet activity that will point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your reponse.

Yea, a driver wasn't installed right and I updated some drivers and IE seems to be working properly :)
