I was given the opportunity to purchase vista business cheaply thru work and chose to do so. Problem 1:My pc needed to be formatted so i thought i'd load up vista as a new installation. When it was all finished my new acer 22" wouldn't display anything, telling me input was not supported. Problem 2: I bought this pc about 4 years ago on ebay with windows pre loaded, so now i have to go back to windows 2000 (as xp is now gone) to use the monitor which i can't use vista upgrade as i need xp sp2 or higher. I know windows vista installed correctly. My pc supports 800x600, i have a new video card arriving in a a day or so, will this solve my problem, i am thinking vista runs at a certain resolution that i can't support at the moment until i get the new card. Am i close?
