PLEASE READ.
I wasn't exactly sure as to which category to place this in but I really need some help here. Reaching my wits end with Vista. Before this I only ever worked with everything BUT Vista most likely for this exact reason. I've been having problems for about a week now. I'll boot up and after running for only a few minutes to an hour, at random periods, Vista will stall. It starts with whatever program I am currently running. Nothing is under heavy load. The program will cease to respond. Theeeen Microsoft Windows, "Not Responding", will come up after a couple clicks. No amount of waiting will let this pass. It hangs indefinitely or everything will go dark after trying the old ctrl+alt+delete (aside from the start button in the bottom left which is not accessible).

I've had to hard boot multiple times because of this issue. I believe it started as my friend informed me that he attempted moving a folder (which contained a regedit task in it) to another folder on the desktop. It would hang on the process for a few seconds then tell him that he did not have the permission. He said the task was trying to initiate whilst moving. I don't know what it contained but he also said that he attempted deletion of the folder at that time and the system froze. Though, I don't believe the registry task has anything to do with it. Ever since! Vista has been crashing. I've done everything to my knowledge. I've cleared out a few dozen useless reg keys.. I've emptied all sorts of temp folders.. wiped free space with multiple programs. Deleted a lot of empty folders with no paths. got rid of a lot of dead ends. I even resorted to running some reg cleaner scans but found nothing blah blah blah EVERYTHING chkdsk and system scan. I can't restore because of the corrupted files that I could not seem to find. After a dozen scans implemented in a dozen different ways! It finally found the corrupt files. I thought it might be some partition loop from the moving/deletion that created some anomalous temp or something, which Windows might be trying to circumvent, that's so obscure it can't be repaired easily. (after a while you start developing conspiracies for why your Vista isn't working) I would have just backed up the hdd then reformatted and reinstalled if I had the space on any other drive, but I do not because my spare drive just so happened to be a seagate 7200.11 and I'm not even getting into that.... After all that. I have the errors but I also HAVE A CBS LOG THAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND! I just need advice on what to do about what's in this cbs log.
Help meh, please please please pleeeeeaaaassssee. In need of much assistance.
