vista not recognising vmware files

Hi all,

i reloaded my vista home basic and copied my vmware workstation files from my ext. hard drive. but vista is not recognising those files, I don't see the program icon on the thumnails, it displays all the files[.vmx,vmdk etc like a notepad. what program must be downloaded to start my workstation again ? please help me.

Follow this tutorial:

How to Edit or Change File Type or Extension Associations (Default Programs) in Windows Vista « My Digital Life

And set the files to open with VMWare Workstation. The path is something like this:

C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware.exe

thank you so much for your reply, I already configured the software using the file which came along. :D

my workstation is working fine . I am just learing BO on it man thanks
