Vista network services stops running on 2K domain

Vista Enterprise x86 - installed - running on a Windows 2000 AD domain... runs fine for about 30-45 days then just stops working on the network. Diagnostic Policy Service just fails-the associated DLL service fails and won't start for lack of "sufficient rights/access denied"

Anyone have any insight other than rebuild the box? I am going to ensure to place it in a container that doesn't receive any GPO policies, but how do I know/find out what is causing this to occur?

type System Restore into the start menu and restore back before it started, easyier than you might believe.

I believe I did this and it didn't work... I'll give it a shot again, almost positive I tried this though...

Have you tested 2000Server AD integration with Vista because it could be outdated and might need specific rules also try excluding it from the policy and manually setting the machine up.

Thanks for the tip- I suspect it might be still getting some 2000 AD GPO pushed to it and that is killing it somehow as well...
