Vista mail and outlook

Hi Guys
I'm dead new on here, only just found you & registered, so forgive me if I make an etiquette boo, please!
I have a small problem at the moment...
I run Vista home premium, and always use Vista mail for email.
I recently installed Outlook 2007, just to use the calendar and look at old PST files - maybe that was silly of me...
Outlook isn't configured as the default email client, and Vista mail still works, but now, every time i click an email address ([email protected]) outlook starts up to send the email, instaed of Vista mail?
Otherwise vista mail is fine - send, recieve, forward & reply etc all work. Just that when I click an email address, I want vista mail to open the send email, not outlook!
Any ideas would be really helpful, and sorry if it's a daft question !
Cheers & thanks

Hello Teejay, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Double check in Default Programs to make sure that Windows Mail is set as the default program with all of it's associations set to it as well. Specifically the MAILTO protocol. Outlook has a bad habbit of making itself the default program sometimes when it is updated.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Ha Ha!
Thanks Brink, that's fixed it, brilliant.
Should have found that myself - bit lazy I think!
Really appreciate you replying to a noob - thanks!
I think I got slightly told-off by a moderator here for posting to a public group rather than the private sub-set, or something, so sorry for that. I'll read up on how to use this group properly, as we Vista users need all the help we can get !!
Thanks again

You're welcome Trev.

That was probably from within a Newsgroup section. Those are mirrored from the Microsoft Public usenet newsgroups that also include the folks that are not our members here. It usually best to stay in the Vista Forums sections that can only be posted in by our members. This way you can avoid some of those rude folks in the newsgroups.
