vista installing problems

ok, I'm new to this forum so hay,

right i have a version o vista and i installed about 7 months ago and then i upgraded it ,to e4500 2.2ghz with a p5n-e sli mother bored iv read about and i have heard that vista has problems with this mother bored.

right so vista gets to the point when it says "finishing installing" and jest sits there. i left it for 6 hours and didn't budge from that spot.

any suggestions please?

Did you install a Vista capable BIOS? What are your complete specs? Are you overclocking? If yes, don't. I have seen this cause issues.

Don't overclock your system in any way until your OS is loaded.

After you get your OS loaded and installed correctly, THEN you can go back and tweak with your settings in your BIOS for some overclocking...

The way it looks is that your system is not stable with its overclock. Try going into your BIOS and setting your settings to default, then load/install the OS, THEN go back and overclock if you desire..but be careful if you don't know what you're doing..

This goes for installing *any* OS - stick with the default / Failsafe BIOS settings when installing.
