Hello, I am currently experiencing severe problems with my laptop. Before getting the hammer out I'd like some advice.
Summary of what happened:
1)IE freezes randomly. Forced to shut down keeping the power button pressed.
2) tried to restart normally. No luck
3) safe mode. OK. Performed memory check. All correct. performed chkdsk. all correct. performed system restore to 4 days ago.
That's the tricky bit
4) restarted the computer. Vista loads. Asked for profile password. After typing password the welcome page loads and hangs there forever.
5)After 10 minutes I kept power button pressed and went back to step 2 3.. and 4.
6) this time I leave it there. After 30 min vista freezes.
Please note that I can boot in safe mode.
I checked the profile in regedit and they look as they should (from tutorial found on this forum).
What else can I try???
