I just ordered a new Dell Optiplex 360 with Vista Home Basic to replace my aging Dell Dimension 4400 running on XP and hooked to a HP Laserjet 3100. I couldn't find the Vista driver that I would need and HP doesn't support this all-in-one device any longer. Does it mean I would have to decommission my HP even though it is working just fine?
Please help if anyone else has encounterd (I am sure) and solved (I am not sure)this problem without buying a new printer.
Thank you roy69 - I looked and when you get to the laserjet 3100, HP shamelessly bows out saying "sorry your product is not supported" and cites a link to upgrade to a product that is supported in Vista.
Is there not a similar product you can try?
I know some of the epson drivers are compatable with each other, mayby you with have some luck with the hp drivers.
just randomly try some of the other Hp printer drivers, i had the same problem with a deskjet 1180c which is now installed with the HP970cse driver and works fine, it takes time to find the right one though.
