Vista does not connect to IE

Hello,

I cannot access IE from my Vista machine, or at least I can't see the images. (??)
I have a linksys router and another computer that runs on xp and everything looks fine with them.
I have tried everything I could think, but well, I'm no expert: works fine on safe mode, I have done a system restore, rebooted every single one of the electronics...Now, when I tried to ping any website I get cero, nada-pachages sent=4 received=0 and 100% lost. I have also lost the norton files and the ccleaner ones as well, I have no idea what the problem is and the Diagnose Connection Problems results says that "website" is not set up to establish a connection with HTTP.

To the moderators: I have posted another threat on this issue but I was not explicit, maybe this time I get lucky and somebody can help me out, this is my daughter's computer and she neds it for school ....or I guess my(our) next option would be to get back to xp.

Hi Beoliver2000,
First you need to check wheter your IP Settings are fine on Vista. you said your using a Linksys Router. Check to see whether you can ping the router if not make sure you have the right IP address settings configured and the router IP address given as the Defult gateway. If you getting a IP address from a DHCP try adding the Defult gateway manualy. Also ask your ISP for the DNS servers IP address and add that in as well. To help you more on this i need to know more about the way u connect up to internet..
