Solved Vista Dark Screen Screensaver every 10 minutes!

Hi there,

I have just purchased a new laptop with Windows Vista but I am having problems with the screensaver settings and selecting a different image. For some reason the screensaver switches on every 10 minutes even though I have set 20 mins as the time allowance and the screensaver appears as a blackened screen rather than one of the more deocrative options. I have tried re-setting the time/style several times but nothing seems to be changing ---- it becomes slightly irritating when watching media when the screen darkens every 10 minutes!!

Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi Lisa,

Welcome to the forums.

Have you looked in the power options panel. Sounds like the screen is shutting off after 10 min. Just a guess.

Just like Gary said. Right-Click on the battery icon in the taskbar, select power options and then choose when to turn off the display.
