I am having the same problem as you Jestur. I had to swap out my motherboard due to it failing and replaced it with an Asus P5N-D. Before the swap, everything worked fine. Now, I cannot view any web pages. In the Network and Sharing Center, it shows that I am connected to the internet and my network and all my devices are listed on the network map(desktop, laptop, wireless router, DSL modem, and network printer. I can print a test page to my network printer and access my files on my Laptop (Vista Home Premium x 32) with no problems, but when I open my browsers on my desktop( I use IE 7 and Firefox), I get an error in IE 7 saying that "IE cannot display website" and get a blank screen in Firefox "untitled". In the Command Prompt, I was able to ping my desktop, laptop, wireless router, and DSL modem successfully. Here is what else I have done so far:
-Went to Control Panel>Internet Option>Connections>Lan settings & I double checked to make sure that my lan settings were set to auto detect.
- Made sure that DHCP is enabled and IP adresses were auto assigned
-Closed my browsers and went to Control Panel>Internet Options>General Tab>Delete Browsing History and clicked delete all
-disabled both Firewalls (Windows and McAfee)
-Opened the command Prompt and did the "ipconfig /flushdns" command and rebooted my desktop.
-Upated my Ethernet Controller driver (Nvidia nForce controller)
With all that said, it definately sounds like a DNS Server/ Browser issue and not a device problem. If anyone else has any more suggestions, I would be glad to hear them. Thanks!
