Vista and the "game panel"

OK so decided to give vista another run. After much tweaking I have it running pretty good - not as fast as xp but the tradeoff for "looks" and security is acceptable.

One problem that I haven't been able to get help with on the MSN boards with. So I come to qt3. The game panel automatically adds games, especially "windows ready" games when you install or run them. However on EVEY game I have installed it gives this error when I try and run them:

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Association control panel".

Cant find the control panel its talking about. This is annoying because vista games don't then make start menu icons so I need to browse directly to the exe to start them. Vista is too smart for its own good.
