Vista and network Canon i860

Recently purchased a new laptop with Vista Home Premium, 64 bit. I'm trying to set up my Canon i860 printer which is attached to a Windows Server 2003 machine. Vista is telling me that drivers are not installed. I downloaded a file called aomvstea23us.exe from the Canon website. This was under their Vista drivers section. But installing that file doesn't seem to install the correct drivers. I actually don't know what that program installed. All it said at the finish was "Program was properly installed". But there is no menu entry or indication as to where any files were installed. There is an entry called "Canon inkjet Printer Driver Add-on Module" under Control Panel/Programs, but I have no idea how to access that program. If I physically attach my laptop to the printer, it works fine. What am I missing? Thanks.

This may or may not help you but it is what I did so my Vista PC and the other 2 XP PC's on my network were finally able to print on the Brother network printer.

When you insert the CD to install the driver and software, it gives you an option to search for the network printer or type the IP adress of it. If I choose the recomended setting (search for it), it finds it and installs everything but I could never print. Choosing to type the IP address was the only way for me to be able to work it out.

It may be a simple band aid and I don't know for how long but, it is what it is and I'll take it :D

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried the TCP/IP setup, but that did not work either. I've also transferred the Canon "driver" file to my server and installed it there. Still no idea what it actually installs. After a restart, the Vista drivers are not listed under the printer's Properties/Sharing Tab.
