Hello all. I am brand new here and brand new to Vista. I recently built a computer with the following components.

  • ASUS M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
  • AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor Model ADX6400CZWOF
  • (QTY. 2 - 4 GIGS total) Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KHX6400D2LLK2/2GR
  • Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
  • Microsoft Windows Vista 64-Bit Ultimate
  • DIAMOND Viper 3850PE3512O Radeon HD 3850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card
  • AVerMedia AVerTVHD MCE A180 HDTV Tuner Card / PVR
  • PHILIPS 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe 2-Tone SATA Model SPD6104BD
  • ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 120mm 2-ball UFO Bearing / Transparent CPU Cooler
  • SUPER TALENT INT-AIN1-C All-in-one USB 2.0 Card Reader
  • XION Onyx XON-303 Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
  • XION Supernova XON-600F14R-201 ATX12V 600W Power Supply
  • SAMSUNG 226BW Black 22" 2 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor
I receieved a BSOD on startup after installation of drivers for the AVermedia card. I did a system restore and that seemed to fix it temporarily. However, the BSOD is back again. I am a newbie when it comes to building computers but I am a developer so at least I can talk my way through it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to try to resolve this issue?

FYI. I removed 2G of RAM and still received the BSOD. I did a memory check with zero issues. How do I read the memory.dmp file?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, We need the BSOD Bug Code to help isolate the cause of the problem and it looks something like 0x00000*** with numbers or letters at the end, its found on the BlueScreen and event logs.
