Vista 64 screen saver won't work

I've read other threads on this issue, couldn't find an answer??? Where should I look? Same issues, running Vista 64 pre installed on a Gateway. Screen saver sometimes works if I change the time on control panel - screen saver - minutes to wait... if I reset it to any number, it will work for a while, then it stops working.

How do I remove the gremlin that's messing with my system...lol. What do I need to do to remedy this? Where can I find the answer?

Unfortunately this is an issue that seems to plague Vista just like the issue of Vista not remembering folder settings; though there is a registry tweak for the folder issue. I too have had my screensaver mysteriously quit working.

Do you have a wireless mouse and keyboard?
