Good Morning,

I have a HP Pavillion M9350F and am having a boot-up problem. During the last Windows update, the Update 3 of 3 had a bug in it and now the machine is hung up in an endless boot-up loop and gives me a 5/593 ($$.cdf-ms) error. How can I get this machine out of this. System Restore doesn't work and setting machine back to a previous time doesn't work either.

Hi Everett,

Are you able to get into Safe Mode by pressing F8 at the end of POST and before Windows starts loading ( green bars)?

If so, you could try System Restore from there.

If not, you might try Method 3 in this article:

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista
