Vista 64 driver

A goodhousewife with limited PC knowledge !, got windows vista 64 HPw1907 screen and HP Pavillion modem trying to hook up scanner canon lide 30 but it comes up no driver not compatable with system ?.Can anyone help or is it a new scanner to purchase - again.
