I need to know how to trick vista into thinking it is running 3.5gb ram.
I'm currently running 8gb on vista 64 and use cubase 5 linked by firewire to a yamaha xs6. Currently, the firewire drivers put a 'safety' latency buffer on any system running over 3.5gb to increase stability and the only way around this is to take out 6gb ram so that i'm only running at 2gb. Then the latency is fine but the system is slower and it reduces how much audio i can play with. Its do-able but i'm sure you can understand its not ideal.
I heard someone mention a ramkill but they weren't sure whether that was safe.
Is there anything i can download that is safe or do in the os which'll make vista64 run on 3.5gb?
I'd appreciate any ideas.
Kindest Regards
