Any assistance appreciated. I've attached the diagnostic files as zipped.

PC make & model is an ASUS Essentio Desktop CG 5270.

I also ran a MEM test for a good 24 hours. All was good in that department.

Hello kmeier and welcome to the forums

Could you zip up this file and attach it to your next post please?

C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\Rtlh64.sys

I'm seeing signs of this causing your BSODs, but I don't know what this file is.

Tom

Well that was a great start to this thread! I read the driver name as Rt1h64 in Windbg and just Googled that. I have a feeling I've made this mistake once before in the past :p

@kmeier

Do you have ASUS Update installed?

I have my ASUS update installed. Windows doesn't detect an updated driver either when I use device manager. The file is attached.

You have to go to the website to update. The updater is not reliable to get to most current.

Hi kmeier,

In addition, while checking the latest files, found there is an error for file crcdisk.sys, run repairs on the Vista System Files with System File Checker using the command sfc /scannow, also providing the link for reference: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66978-system-files-sfc-command.html

If issue persists, we can repair the file by using the command chkdsk /f, providing the link for detailed instructions: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67612-check-disk-chkdsk.html

Also run the built-in diagnostics provided by the manufacturer on the computer to check if the hardware is working fine.

Please reply if you have any further questions.

After running the SFC command, could you zip up and upload your CBS log for us please? It is located here:

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Don't follow the instructions in the tutorial labelled 1. How to Read the CBS.LOG as the output isn't at all helpful for us, we need the full log :)

Attached is the zipped cbs.log file.

Besides the BSOD, I also have a few other glitches with my ASUS: loud fan, monitor randomly goes black for a few seconds, SD card not always recognized, USB mouse messes with SLEEP function.

Any recommended hardware diagnostic tools?
