Virus help please!

when I try to access the personalize file or the system file from the control panel I get a explorer.exe application error. also when I try to acess any files in the c:/ drive. I think it might be a trojan ataccking explorer but I dont know what to do. any help would be greatly apreciated

I would recommend running a scan with Malwarebytes.

this is what the maleware search found. what should I do. malware has an option to remove the 1 item it found. should I remove it

And the error is Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to restart? If so, does it crash when you right click then go to personalize?

Hello fourthwave what you refer to here is it the infected registry value that Malwarebytes found that you removed?
