I have a XPS 420 running vista home premium 64-bit. I was looking for a average video card around the $200 range that would support FSX well. any thought??...

Well, right now you can get a nice 9800GTX+ for right at $200 on newegg.com ... I'm about to buy the EVGA SSC Edition for $219.99 for my own birthday present sometime in November. However the standard EVGA 9800GTX+ which runs with the 8800Ultra is only $189.99 on newegg, too. They're great and very affordable.

I've played on a regular 9800GTX and it's an amazing card btw. The GTX+ is on a 46 NM core and is clocked a decent amount higher than the regular GTX as well so it's got a minute advantage in performance and it takes less juice to run. If I were you, I'd take a look at one.

Don't be fooled by the Radeon 4850 BTW. The 9800GTX+ is MUCH faster than the 4850. If you have the moo-la to get a 4870, I still wouldnt do it, either. Might as well grab a GTX260 and get more bang for your buck. (nothing wrong with the Radeon 4800 series cards. The thing is .. Nvidia's new cards are simply superior to ATI's current lineup. I used to be an ATI homer however I admit it when the competition is making a better product. Now I'm hooked on Nvidia)

thanks for the advice...i'll look into it. I have ran into problems with FSX not supporting/not working well with certain cards. These should work fine right?
