I just bought a game made in 2004 for XP (I'm running Vista 32-bit) called Tribes: Vengeance. I've read online that being able to run the game on Vista is kind of hit or miss. And now I'm having some trouble with it.
When I start the game, I get the following message in a pop-up window:
Anyone care to help me out? I'm way too inexperienced with PC gaming to even know what to do (other than asking for help on a forum ).
When I start the game, I get the following message in a pop-up window:
I click continue, and the game plays normally (aside from some parts of cutscenes that look like someone turned the contrast waaaay up). However, at the same point, everytime, I click on a weapon to choose from my inventory, and then my screen turns black and starts flickering endlessly, as if it's being minimized and restored rapidly. The only way to get out of it is to press the Windows key, and then I see an alert in my taskbar that says:Insufficient System Resources
The video card in this computer does not meet the minimum video requirements for this game. The minimum system requirements can be found in the game packaging and manual. (Info=444 0x8086 0x2A02 0x581)
Playing the game on this hardware is unsupported and not recommended. Do you wish to Continue?
Normally I would look for a patch, but Vivendi Universal dropped support for the game almost immediately after it shipped, so it's unlikely I'd find anything after their v1.01 patch (which I've already installed). I've also updated my card's driver, and it still doesn't work.Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered
