via vt6421a sata pci card

im trying to install the sata pci controller card but i dont get vista pop up for found new hardware when i look in device manager all i see new is via raid controller 3249 anyone got any good ideas on how to fix this i have removed it and reinstalled a few times hoping something woul happen no good thanks for any help

I did have the same problem..... I found out that did not plugged it in properly.

Right click the VIA controller (Storage Controller) in the device manager and "update driver" click "browse my computer for driver software", Have the unzipped driver folder for the VIA VT6421 on the computer, and install 32-bit driver.

I know its a massive bump, but thanks for this, few hours of faffing around (and trying to locate similar drivers for an old startech one) beforehand led me here, cheers!

rive0108 gave good advice download the driver from his post, unzip,then go to device manager expand the + next to storage controller, right click and update driver
You will be asked do you want to search online or in your computer,
choose search my computer and go to the unzipped file.
