Very ODD -- SLI display during 3D games

Hello all,

Possibly not even a Vista problem, but this seems to be a pretty good resource overall so I was hoping somebody might have an idea what's wrong.

I am running a pair of eVGA 7950 GT cards in SLI, no overclock anywhere, and I get a very odd display whenever I get into some kind of 3d game. I have attached a screenshot of HL2; however, this also happens in WoW so it's not game dependant. Any idea how I get rid of this crazy display? You can see there is some ghetto lettering that says SLI in the top left corner, and there is what could best be described as a green histogram along the left edge of the screen that "breathes" as the scene changes.

Any help turning off this "feature" would be awesome :)

I've found that this bar really is a feature. ZOMG, has nothing to do with Vista. Unfortunately I cannot disable it as of right now. You need to go to a section of the nVidia control panel that doesn't exist on my nVidia control panel. Who the hell decides to make this thing on as the default but not give a way to disable it?

I've attached a picture of my ghetto level nVidia control panel which does not have the correct option to disable the bar. Ideas?

EDIT: I did a simul post to the previous post, same issue. There is no option to remove it that I can see.

My apologies, you're right. For me, it was under the main menu heading at the top of the window: 3D Settings. From that menu there is only one possible selection: Show SLI Visualizations. I unchecked that option and it went away. Ugh! Probably lost 6.9 hours off the end of my life for the tantrum I threw over that retarded default :).

Now to just get your lost hours of non gaming back :p

Here's the (not so) funny thing. I bought the set up for this SLI configuration over a year ago. For some reason I cannot recall I gave up on SLI and pulled a card for a significant amount of time. I know I fought this battle before, and it's possible that the reason I left a card out of the machine for so long was I couldn't get rid of the stupid green bar.

My Computer

Thanks for the solution to fix it. That solution is my solution on how to enable it :P

Feel quite stupid now seeing it's right there at the top. I ignored that thinking it just opened up the other 3D setting area with all the graphic options.

The only other way I used to disable it was with nHancer, but I hate nHancer, if you use an SLI profile in nHancer, it removes it from your Nvidia Control Panel, which is a pain in the rear.
