can i use task scheduler to empty only my temp folder once a week?

Yes you can, you need to create a batch file which can be done using notepad.
You will have to find the location of the folder but the command would be;

Del C:\folder path *.*

You can then tell tell task scheduler to run the script once a week.
Insure the batch file uses the extention .bat

A better solution would be to create a shortcut to the desktop and manually look at it once a week or use the disk cleanup tools which delete the temp files and your history amongst other things.

Schedule Ccleaner/Auto and select the things you want to clear. In Vista you have more than one temp folder.
