i have various problems so any solutions to any of the problems would be very helpful. i'll just list them and anyone who has any idea what i can do please tell.
* i plugged a usb flash drive into my front usb. (now does not work on any pc) when i plugged it in first time a message came up saying error could not read what was inserted etc.
* My front USB's appear to know something is going in sometimes and then other times don't. it read a webcam being connected. but when i tried an external hard drive i got a similar problem as with my usb flash drive. luckily that still works on my old pc though.
* back usb ports seem to be doing similar weird behaviour.
This could be from any of a number of issues - typically, I see this when a system has too many devices and is overloading the PSU. I'd test your PSU and make sure it is running OK, and use eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite v2.5 to verify that you have adequate power - and even then, it can still be the CPU - depending upon the age of the PSU and the number of dust bunnies running around it may simply be performing poorly.
On a few instances though I have also seen faulty case design, in which the USB ports were shorting with the case, causing all sorts of problems. If you are not a hardware savvy person, I'd *highly* recommend that you carry the unit to a local repair shop and have them analyze it.

just used that power calculator and it said i should have around 405w to power my system. i currently have 600w so doubt that's the problem. could it have been the age of my flash drive. i've just ordered a new one so fingers crossed. are there any drivers you can download for your computer to instantly recognise a usb flash drive?
ive been using various devices and seem to have identified the problem but no idea how to solve it. there are two usb ports on the front of my computer. the top one when a device is plugged into it works fine. the bottom one however is the one that reads an error when a flash drive is plugged in. then it breaks the device. i tried it with a spare stick i had lying around is this one also now broken for good?
any ideas what's causing this one usb port to be so weird??
