Guinelle, the easiest thing to do is to try another Keyboard, unless water was spilled across the WHOLE keyboard, some keys will work and some others (where water seated directly) won't.

You may be able to alleviate this by running a hair dryer to the keyboard but still, it will never work the same again... you may get lucky.

Liquids + Electronic Equipment = Hair Raising Situations

Hi Guinelle1,

Was the keyboard plugged in, and was your system operational when you spilt water on it? If so, you may have damaged your motherboard (shorted the USB socket to which you plugged the keyboard). Since you state that the keyboard seems to work OK on another system (your brothers), then try his keyboard on yours. I would also try an alternative USB socket, if you have any spare.

yes, and yes. im plugging the keyboard into my front USB port because i do not want to reach behind it everytime, and i have tried a few different back ports.. im not exactly sure which port it is but im just baffled. im 99.9999% positive it is a driver issue though

OK, if you are sure that it is a driver problem, have you downloaded the 64 bit drivers for your KB?

I found this site here... Drivers & Software

I would download the 64 bit drivers for it, save it on a temp folder, uninstall the drivers you have now, restart and update drivers... remember to "Run as Administrator" when you do the new install.

If that doesn't help, I would Uninstall all the USB drivers, restart and let Vista sort out the installation of the drivers for it. You may have asimple IRQ conflict with it right now even though I have no idea if Vista is even capable of such thing.
