Hi,

I recently bought a Verbatim Micro USB Drive (8GB) which is supposed to work with VIsta but when i plugged it into my USB slot it looked for drivers and then said none found. I eventually got the drive to show up in "My Computer" its called a "Store n GO" drive but as soon as i click on it I get the "Spinning Wheel" and nothing happens and it locks eveything up.

I bought this USB especially for the fact that it was Windows Vista Certified and all the USB drives I had used for my old XP computer didnt work with Vista either but this one is Vista Certified and it still doesnt work?

It comes up in device manager as "This device is working properly" but its not???

UPDATE: Seems to be a hardware problem as when i plug the USB into the rear of my tower I have no issues at all with any of my USB drives. I can plug my usb printer into the front USB ports with no issues just seems USBs dont work in there?????

Any ideas?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers.

My Computer

It appears that the front usb ports are not powerful enough to make the hdd work, I should know, I have a WD passport 320GB and I almost nuked my brand new rig because I couldn't use the front usb ports.

Call me a comformist but you know what I did? got me a usb extension cable, plugged into one of the back usb ports and that is what I use for my passport 320... I am not going in the back of my PC on a daily basis if I can help it :)

Now, if you do find a solution... hook-a-brutha up ok! ;)
